HERALD’S FALL | SHORT FILM | COSTUME DESIGN
Herald’s Fall is a short film by Watkins student Lyv Kenney. The protagonist, Honeybee (shown), was an engineer aboard ‘The Ark’. ‘The Ark’s purpose as a space ship was to search for a new home for the Kodian species. While attempting to travel at light speed ‘The Ark’ was destroyed, which resulted in collision. Honeybee is stranded on an unknown planet riddled with shipwreck and no recollection of the crash, and as her final plight she discovers the fate of her ship and crew.

GIGI’S PLAYHOUSE | RACHEL’S DREAM DRESS
While attending O’More College of Design, we were offered an amazing opportunity to collaborate with GiGi’s Playhouse’s Nashville location. GiGi’s Playhouse is the only chain of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers in the United States and Mexico providing free therapeutic. educational, and career training programs for individuals of all ages.
I was introduced to Rachel and helped her create her dream dress. Rachel wanted a dress suited for her princess personality, but also wanted versatility with it. One of our most challenging problems was finding an appropriate length to her dress - She wanted a long dress but was worried about tripping from it. I decided to make her dress multi paneled, with each seam having channels for ribbon. Doing this ensured Rachel can change the style of the skirt to suit multiple different occasions and comfort levels.

NEW DIALECT | ETUDE 13 | DANCE COSTUME
While taking a costume design course at O’More College of Design, we collaborated with New Dialect. Instructed by Banning Bouldin, New Dialect is a nonprofit contemporary dance collective based in Nashville, TN.
After the course, I was offered an internship as assistant designer. I patterned, cut out, and partially sewed the costumes for Etude 13 during my Junior year fall semester.
